What is TakeAPic app?
TakeAPic app allows you to take a photo of yourself, objects, or documents using your
desktop/laptop’s default webcam.

What’s the default photo format?
The default photo format is JPG. What is the default photo quality (dimension and resolution)? The default photo quality (dimension and resolution) is the highest possible quality that your webcam is capable of.

For instance, if the highest possible quality that your webcam is capable of, in terms of dimension is 1280 pixels width and 720 pixels height; and in terms of resolution, 96 dpi horizontal and 96 dpi vertical, then these default specifications are the basis of your photo quality.

How to take a photo?
To take a photo, simply click on the “Take a Photo” button. In taking a photo of a document be sure to hold it still as any movement will affect the quality of the photo.

Where’s my photo saved?
Your photo is saved inside the “Pictures” folder. You can find the Pictures folder under “File Explorer”. Go to “This PC” and locate the “Pictures” folder.

How to take another photo?
To take another photo, click on the “Close” button of the pop-up message box and click on the “Take a Photo” button again.

What’s the effect of clicking the “Refresh” button?
Clicking the Refresh button restarts the app.

What are the known issues?
One of the causes of failure to initialize this app is that the computer’s camera and microphone are disabled. Disabling the camera and microphone also disables the “Take a Photo” function of this app.

While the microphone isn’t essentially needed for this app, the microphone is integrated for the camera to operate. Please enable the computer’s camera and microphone when using this app. To enable the camera and microphone, go to Windows “Settings”, click on the “Privacy” button and give “Camera” and “Microphone” app permissions.

Another known issue is double-clicking the Take a Photo button. Don’t double click the Take a Photo button. Give the camera one second to prepare to take another photo.

What’s the general advice when something goes wrong?
Enabling the camera and microphone and clicking the “Refresh” button solve known issues.
