Warning #2: Don’t minimize the app as all recording functions, including Camera Ready, Record, Pause, Resume, Stop and Save will be disabled. You can, however, resize this app.

What is VidRecorder app? 
VidRecorder app records video with audio, allows record pause and record resume, and saves video recording to HD1080p MP4 file.

What’s the recommended hardware requirement to record a video?
To record a video, 4GB RAM is recommended.

How to record a video?
Here are the steps to record a video: 

  1. Click the “Camera Ready” button.
  2. Click the “Record” button. 
  3. After clicking the Record button, you can pause the recording by clicking the “Pause” button.
  4. If you want to resume the recording, click the “Resume” button.
  5. If you want to stop and save the recording, click the “Stop and Save” button. The Stop and Save button completes the video recording process.

How to find out the status of the video recording process?
A text message below the “Record New Video or Refresh” button shows the status of the video recording process.

How to find out the recording duration?
The recording duration can be found below the recording status.

Where’s my video recording?
Your video is saved inside the “Videos” folder. You can find the Videos folder under “File Explorer” and then go to “This PC” and find the “Videos” folder.

How to record again?
Click the “Record New Video or Refresh” button.

What are the effects of clicking the “Record New Video or Refresh” button?
Clicking the “Record New Video or Refresh” button allows you to record another video. It also restarts the app. This will also result in disabling all existing recording functions. So be sure to complete the video recording process before clicking this button.

What is the maximum recording time?
The maximum recording time is 2 hours and 54 minutes. Few seconds after the timer reaches 02:54:00, this notification appears: “The video capture has exceeded its maximum length. Capture Halted”. Warning: A few minutes prior to the maximum recording time of 2 hours and 54 minutes, it is best to click the “Stop and Save” button. Few seconds after 02:54:00, all functionalities no longer work. You will lose your video/audio recording if you don’t save your work before the timer reaches 02:54:00.

What is the default video recording quality?
The default video recording quality is HD1080p (1920 X 1080). Video quality, in general, depends on other factors such as camera specifications, lighting, etc.

What is the default video recording format?
The default video recording format is MP4.

Can I resize this video app?
Yes, you can. Click on the resize icon located on top of the app screen (right side when you’re facing the computer).

What are the known issues?
The following are the known issues:

During the “Camera Ready” state, one of the causes of failure to preview is that the computer’s camera and microphone are disabled. Please enable the computer’s camera and microphone when using this app.

During the “Record”, “Pause”, “Resume”, “Stop and Save” stages, one of the causes of errors is that this app is minimized. Please don’t minimize this app during any of these stages.

What’s the general advice when something goes wrong?
Clicking the “Record New Video or Refresh” button solves known issues.

How to apply the latest update of this app?
Go to Microsoft Store to manually apply the latest update of this app. Set updates to automatic – via Microsoft Store – to automatically receive the latest software update.
